Posted March 31, 2010. hey guys, my brother isnt too sure how much oil to put in his 03 450exc. obviously dont have a manual. Im assuming that it shares the clutch + engine oil, so my guess is around 1.5L but just wanted to make sure. +gas to all that help.
I would hope in 15 years they have been addressed. I have 2 2006's a 400 and 450, the 450 is horrible on single track and has been parked since 2012, bought in 2010 but does make a good dualsporter on 2 tracks and dirt roads. The 2006 400 exc I raced enduro's and hare scramble with it and it was considered the best 4 stroke KTM ever made.

Check the valves & change the oil & both filters every 25-30 hours plus the two oil screens every other oil change. Still running strong, the only engine covers I've removed are the tappet covers.
